PanAm Circuit Championship
Point System Tournament
Points First
place in each division at every major tournament is worth 100 tournament points.
The points for second place, third place, etc. will be determined by dividing
100 points by the number of teams within the division. As an example: If there
were 25 teams in the Rookie division, then second place would be worth 96 and
third would get 92 tournament points. If there were 11 teams in the Amateur
division, then second place would be worth 91 and third would be 82 tournament
points. Fractions are rounded to the nearest whole number. Participation
Points Attending
minor affiliated events earns a team participation points. Whether a team refs
or plays in an affiliated event, and whether the team finishes in first or last
place, each minor event is worth 25 participation points. The
maximum participation points a team can accumulate are 75. A team may attend
more than three minor events on the circuit, but only 75 participation points
will be factored into their overall circuit total. Teams who cross ref major
events (i.e. 5-player team ref'ing a 10-player event) earn 75 participation
points. Refereeing
Points Ref’ing
at a major tournament earns a team 100 points (the same as finishing in 1st
place) for that particular tournament. A 5-player team may ref at a 5-player
major event only once per season (10-player team at only one 10-player event). A
team cannot earn tournament points and ref’ing points at the same event. Teams
who cross ref major events (i.e. 5-player team ref'ing a 10-player event) earn
75 participation points. Points may be deducted for substandard ref’ing
performances. Circuit
Championship Points Overall
Circuit points in 5- and 10-player divisions are based on attending all the
major events. A perfect score in 10-player is 375. A perfect score in 5-player
is 475. The overall championship points for both Young Gun and Stock Gun
divisions will be based on points earned at the season finale, plus points from
two additional tournaments. Transferring
Points Points
earned by a team at a 5-player or a 10-player major tournament cannot be
transferred to another team, to another division, nor from a 5-player to a
10-player event. A team's name as well as the points it accumulates are
considered by the PanAm staff to be the property of the team captain whose name
appears on the entry form. Tiebreaker Should
multiple teams finish the season with the same total points, the first
tiebreaker is: Who finished higher at commonly attended events. The second
tiebreaker is: Who ref'ed during the season. The third tiebreaker is: Lowest
average of finishes (For example: 2 firsts and 2 seconds = 6, which beats 3
firsts and a fourth = 7.) The fourth tiebreaker is: Standings going into the
final event of the year. |
