PanAm Circuit

Format Information

Schedule: PanAm 5-player major events last three days, usually a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Novice and Amateur teams play their opening round on Friday and Saturday. Rookie teams play their opening round on Saturday and Sunday morning. The semifinal and final rounds for all divisions are played Sunday afternoon. The 10-player major events are two days, usually Saturday and Sunday (except for Vegas), and Am/Nov/Rke teams all play both days.

Captains meetings: Meetings are held at the scoring table. For 5-player, the Nov/Am meeting is 7:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Rookie meeting is Saturday morning (usually around 11:00). The 10-player captains' meeting is at 7:00 p.m. before the start of games. The Young Guns meeting is 9:00 p.m. Saturday. The Stock Gun meeting is right after the Semi-final round ends.

Divisions: Major events separate Rookie, Novice and Amateur teams into different divisions. Amateur teams play Amateurs, Novices play Novices, Rookies play Rookies (see Player Classification). Team seeding within a bracket is based on overall circuit ranking, how many squads each team enters, and geographical relationships.

Games: Depending on the number of entries and the size of the brackets, 5-player teams will play between six and ten games in the opening round (5 to 8 games for 10-player). The top teams (approximately 40%) advance to the semifinal round (usually two more games) and then the final round (another two-game set).

Scoring: PanAm events use a 100-point maximum per game scoring system. Accumulated points zero out between opening, semifinal and final rounds. (Refer to the Rules for more specific information about scoring, eliminations, flag pulls and hangs, etc.)

Paintball Limitations: PanAm major tournaments allow players to bring their own paintballs. The restrictions are “no blood-red colored fills” and “no staining paint formulations designed to be hard to wipe.” To keep the cost of playing low and the level of competition high, there is a paint limit. The limit is 200 rounds per player per game in 5-player, 500 rounds per player per game in 10-player. (See Rules for more information.) The Young Guns limit is 100-rds. per player per game. No limit on paintballs and 12-grams for Stock Gun.

Prizes: We guarantee a minimum of $15,000 worth of products for each 5-player event. But the total prize package can exceed $40,000 at our biggest events, depending on the number of teams attending. The 10-player prize package varies depending on the number of entries. The majority of the prizes are divided between the Novice and Amateur teams. Some prizes go to the Stock-Gun and Young-Guns Leagues, and some prizes are raffled. Since Rookie division teams pay a substantially lower entry fee, Rookie winners receive a smaller percentage of the prizes than Novice and Amateur winners.

Refs: All teams that ref must meet experience and qualification requirements, plus they must attend a class before they can ref a PanAm major event. (Refer to Online Forms link for ref’ing application.)

Affiliated Tourneys: Minor tournaments that agree to affiliate with the PanAm Circuit are independent events. However, the producers of affiliated events agree to use the same rules and scoring, and the same basic format as PanAm major events. Teams who attend affiliated events earn participation points toward the PanAm regional and national championships. Note: Do not send entry fees for affiliated events to the PanAm Circuit. Teams must contact the affiliated tournament producer for the schedule, prizes, entry fees, and format information (refer to the Schedule for dates and contact phone numbers).

Stock-Gun League: Stock-Gun games are played during the final rounds at each PanAm 5- or 10-player major event. The format is 3-player teams, playing five-minute games of center flag. You can use one of our top-of-the-line Phantoms if you don’t own a stock ‘gun.

Young-Gun League: The format for Young Guns also is 3-player teams playing five-minute games of center flag. The paint limit is 100-rds per player per game. All games are on Saturday.

Entry Fees: Payment in full is due 10 days before a Young Guns, 5- or 10-player event. Stock-Gun players also should send in entries early, but sign-ups usually are available at the event. Except for Stock Gun, all entries include CO2 or HP gas fills. 10-player teams: $1050.00 for Am & Nov, $950.00 for Rke. 5-player teams: $575.00 for Am & Nov, $475.00 for Rke. Young Guns teams: $180.00, Stock Gun teams: $95.00. (Refer to the Online Forms link for registration forms.)
